The people you choose to surround yourself with have a powerful influence on the direction of your life. Healthy relationships encourage wisdom, strengthen your character, and inspire you to become more like Christ, while unhealthy influences can quietly pull your heart away from God's best. Because of the new life you have in Jesus, you have the wisdom to make choices that honor God and protect your spiritual growth. As you deepen your personal relationship with God, you will become more discerning about the voices you listen to, the friendships you cultivate, and the environments you allow to shape your life. Choose relationships that encourage peace, integrity, and godly character, and do not be afraid to walk away from influences that continually lead you in the wrong direction. Every decision to pursue God's wisdom is an investment in the abundant life He desires for you.

Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person,

do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.

Proverbs 22:24–25 NIV
