Let What Fills Your Heart and Leaves Your Mouth Honor God

Every thought you choose to entertain and every word you speak presents an opportunity to honor God. He cares not only about what others can see and hear but also about what you continually allow to occupy your heart and mind. Your private thoughts influence your attitudes, and those attitudes often become evident in the way you communicate, make decisions, and treat others. Through Jesus Christ, you are invited to experience a change that reaches beyond outward behavior and begins within. As you deepen your personal relationship with God, become intentional about examining what you think about, the conversations you participate in, and the words you choose when emotions are running high. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize when frustration, pride, resentment, or careless thinking may be influencing your responses. This does not mean every thought that enters your mind reflects your character, but you can choose whether to dwell on it and allow it to influence your behavior. When you fall short, remember that the Lord is your Redeemer, and you can turn to Him for forgiveness, correction, and help to grow. Let your desire to please God extend beyond what you do publicly to what you nurture privately, so that both your heart and your words increasingly reflect His truth.
“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
Psalm 19:14 NIV
