Pay Attention to Who Is Influencing Who You’re Becoming

The relationships surrounding you have the ability to influence more than your social life; over time, they can shape your thinking, choices, habits, and character. God created you for meaningful relationships, but He also gives you wisdom to recognize that every connection should not have the same level of access or influence in your life. Jesus loved people without allowing the values, opinions, or pressures around Him to pull Him away from what pleased the Father. As you deepen your personal relationship with God, become more aware of whether the people closest to you are encouraging the person He is shaping you to become or consistently influencing you away from His truth. This does not mean abandoning everyone who believes or lives differently from you; it means using wisdom about who you allow to speak deeply into your life and shape your decisions. You can love people, pray for them, and treat them with grace without giving every relationship permission to influence your direction. Choose your closest relationships wisely, because who you continually allow to influence your life can eventually influence who you become.
