Start Your Morning by Giving God What’s Already on Your Mind

There is something powerful about giving God your attention before the demands of the day begin competing for it. Morning prayer creates space to bring Him what is already on your heart—your needs, decisions, concerns, desires, and everything you know you cannot handle without His help. You do not have to approach Him with perfect words; you can simply come with an honest heart and the expectation that He hears you. Jesus modeled the importance of seeking God in quiet moments, showing you that prayer is not merely something you turn to when life becomes difficult, but an essential part of your relationship with Him. As you deepen your personal relationship with God, let your mornings become a place where you intentionally lay your requests before the Lord instead of carrying them into the day alone. Then, after you have prayed, leave room for expectation. Waiting expectantly does not mean demanding that God answer exactly as you want; it means trusting that He heard your prayer and remains faithful, wise, and attentive to everything you have placed before Him.
In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
Psalm 5:3 NIV
