You Don’t Have to Believe Every Thought That Enters Your Mind

Your mind does not have to become a resting place for every thought that enters it. Some thoughts may sound convincing but lead you toward fear, pride, doubt, temptation, or beliefs that contradict what God has revealed in His Word. Instead of automatically accepting them as truth, you can learn to examine what you are thinking and refuse to agree with anything that attempts to elevate itself above what you know about God. Jesus calls you into a life where even your thoughts are brought under His leadership, which means what occupies your mind matters to your spiritual growth and daily choices. As you deepen your personal relationship with God, become intentional about recognizing thoughts that do not agree with His truth, rejecting what should not remain, and replacing it with what His Word says. This takes discipline, especially when certain thought patterns have been repeated for a long time, but you are not powerless over what you continually allow your mind to entertain. Every thought does not deserve your agreement; bring it before Christ and let His truth determine what gets to stay.
Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV
