You Don’t Have to Settle the Score—God Will Handle What Is His

You do not have to carry the responsibility of making sure every wrong done to you is repaid. When someone has hurt you, treated you unfairly, or escaped the consequences you believe they deserve, the desire to make things right yourself can become difficult to release. Yet God does not ask you to become the judge of another person’s actions; He asks you to trust His authority and judgment. Jesus experienced betrayal, false accusations, and injustice without responding with personal revenge, entrusting Himself to God even when others treated Him wrongly. As you deepen your personal relationship with God, learn to place the people and situations that have wounded you into His hands instead of allowing resentment or the desire for retaliation to take root in your heart. Releasing vengeance does not mean pretending the wrong did not happen or refusing appropriate boundaries and accountability. It means trusting that justice belongs to God and you do not have to take His place. You can release the need to settle the score because God sees what happened, knows what is right, and can be trusted with what happens next.

For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again,

“The Lord will judge His people.”

Hebrews 10:30 NKJV
